The Board of Participation e.V. (BoP) is an international platform for exchange in the context of artistic and scientific research and practice. Experts from different academic and artistic fields work together on concepts of empowerment, community building and participation with a strong focus on interdisciplinary approaches. Beyond ideas of pure solidarity, the Board tries to strengthen forms of cooperation which are based on the talents, skills, ideas and competencies of people and not on their status or background, f.e. as a refugee. Mostly we are interested in helping establish new forms of
exchanging scientific and artistic ideas, of learning and mutual understanding. The goal of the Board is to support innovative projects and educational measurements to turn the term participation into a more precise one.
One key project is at the moment the “The Moving Network”, a research-based attempt to describe the role of multipliers within refugee communities. On the basis of interviews and common workshops, lectures and public events the project has gained a widely spread attention.
The Refugio Sharehouse, the
Damascus-in-Exile Space, the Museum for Communication and the Macromedia University headquarter of the Goethe Insitute in Munich, the University Basel, the Queens University in Belfast and conference meetings in Tel Aviv, Düsseldorf and Vienna had been places where the project was invited to explain the approach of the research work. Artists like Ramadan Ali, a successful actor, and musician who played lastly in Milo Raus piece “Empire” in Zurich, Paris and Graz, or Prof. Dr. Ayad Al-Ani, a well-known academic expert for organization theory, have
been members since the beginning and helped to communicate the special potentials of cooperation between the Arts and Sciences.
We are very often asekd for workshops and lectures. Please contact for these request our Educational Coordinator Mafalda Sandrini on the following email:
